MI vs CSK Predicted Playing 11

Five-time champions Mumbai have not won a single match this season and if they lose today, their hopes of winning the title will be dashed. Defending champions Chennai are also not in good shape and are just one step above Mumbai at the bottom of the points table. His team has also lost five of the six matches and Thursday's rate will create the same situation for them as today's Mumbai.

The biggest concern for Mumbai is the form of captain Rohit Sharma, who has scored just 114 runs in six matches. Even young batsman Ishan Kisan was not able to justify his price tag of Rs 15.25 crore.  Daveld Bravis, Tilak Verma and Suryakumar Yadav have played some good innings but they have to come together to take charge in the middle order. All-rounder Kieron Pollard, whose match-winning image is being tarnished, has also been disappointed so far. On paper, Mumbai have a good batting line-up that could capture the less experienced Chennai attack.

For Mumbai, bowling is more of a concern than batting. With the exception of Jaspreet Bumrah, his other bowlers have performed poorly so far. Timel Mills, Joydev Unadkat, Basil Thampi or head spinner Murugan Ashwin will have to give their best now. Mills scored 54 runs in three overs in his last match against Lucknow Super Giants, where Unadkat and Murugan Ashwin scored 32 and 33 runs respectively. Mumbai tried Fabian Allen but lost 47 runs in four overs.

The return of Ruturaj Gaikwad to form is a positive sign for Chennai. He scored 63 off 46 balls in the last match against Gujarat Titans. Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dubey set a great example of their attacking batting against Royal Challengers Bangalore but they did not work against Gujarat. Along with Ambati Rayudu and Moin Ali, Dubey will have to take on more responsibilities in the middle order. Captain Rabindra Jadeja and Mahendra Singh Dhoni can play the role of finisher.

Chennai batsmen collect runs but the team is suffering more due to poor bowling. Fast bowler Mukesh Chowdhury is looting runs while Chris Jordan, who was associated with the team as a specialist bowler in death overs, has completely failed. Jadeja doesn't look really dangerous in bowling and he has to perform better to stop the Mumbai batsmen. With the exception of Dwayne Bravo and spinner Mahesh Tixan, the Chennai bowlers did not do well. With Deepak Chahar out and Adam Milne still not fully fit, Chennai's responsibility falls on these bowlers.
